Set against the backdrop of the Edinburgh Castle, the closing fireworks display at the Edinburgh International Festival is the world’s biggest annual fireworks concert and acts as the finale to the Fringe, a month long celebration of art and culture in the city.

four23 designed the central band stand in the Prince’s Park which acted as a performance stage for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, who performed in front of 250,000 spectators on closing night.

The S.C.O.’s performance concluded with a rendition of the Thunder and Lightening Polka by Johann Strauss, which synchronised with the launch of more than 400,000 silver and golden crackle-effect fireworks into the night sky over the city.
