Marc Márquez has become the youngest ever Moto GP World Champion at the age of just 20 years old.
Following Marc’s most recent triumph, four23 traveled to the Catalonian hills with Oakley, to a dirt track near his home to art direct a photoshoot and create a film exploring his passion for his sport.
We took Marc back to his roots, to The Circuit de Dirt Track de L’albi, near Barcelona. The track is owned by a close friend of Marc’s and he has been riding there since he was a teenager, alongside his younger brother Alex – also a Moto GP rider.
On this familiar track, Marc explained how he honed the skills that would take him to two world titles. He credits his unparalleled success on the bike to his obsessive self-discipline: his motivation to always improve.
Still only 21, Marc Márquez is one of only four road racers to have won world championship titles in three different categories.
