PROJECT

Reebok:
Kendrick Lamar

four23 collaborated with Reebok to host a UK appearance from Grammy Award winner Kendrick Lamar.

By day we created a unique programme of jams and art workshops for aspiring young musicians, which led to an impromptu freestyle battle with Kendrick and by night an LA-inspired block party featuring an intimate performance with Kendrick for a select group of fans and media.

The campaign connected around the world, featuring in global music, style and culture titles including Noisey, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Complex, Dazed, Fader, FACT and many more.

Read about the project in full detail here.

"The event ended up allowing diehard
rap fans to connect with Kendrick in a
way only his collaborators do."

HypeTrak

"We're pretty sure 2016 has already
been made for a group of young musicians
thanks to Reebok and Kendrick Lamar."

four23 have directed and produced a 360º immersive film exploring the world of Fight for Peace, a charitable foundation based in Rio, Brazil that helps young people realise their potential through boxing and martial arts.

The film follows the story of Brazilian amateur boxer Miriam Cruz Parga, through the streets of the Complexo de
Maré favela.

"Fight for Peace is a big part of my life.
Life in this community isn't easy.
But when I'm here I feel like I'm at home."

PROJECT

Oakley:
In Residence

four23 collaborated with Oakley, to create In Residence, a multi-platform, global campaign celebrating culture, creativity and community in sport.

The series debuted with The Studio, a space dedicated to skateboarding in Los Angeles and The Workshop, a hub celebrating cycling in London.

Each space hosted an on-going programme of art and design workshops, exclusive film screenings, rideouts and skates with partners, athletes and ambassadors including: Atiba Jefferson, Eric Koston, Sean Malto, Mark Cavendish, The Bicycle Film Festival, Liam Phillips and Girl Skateboards.

More information on the project at
Hypebeast Spaces and view the full
four23 case study here.

"This is a place without ego or cliques,
where anyone who has a passion for
bikes and cycling... or who wants to get
started... can hangout and immerse
themselves in their obsession and chat
with other like-minded people."

WSGN

"The purpose of the space is to help
young participants explore and engage
in the creativity that emerges from having
a skate mindset."

PROJECT

Team GB:
Rio 2016

four23 partnered with adidas to develop the campaign imagery to reveal the Team GB Olympic kit designed
by Stella McCartney.

Featuring a neon interpretation of the bespoke crest created by the Royal College of Arms that appears prominently on the kit, the images featured Olympic and Paralympic athletes Jessica Ennis-Hill, Ellie Simmonds, Tom Daley, Tom Mitchell and Laura Trott.

View images from the project here.

"It's nothing to do with fashion. This is
purely about some of the greatest
athletes walking on this planet right now,
and what they need to do to maximise
their potential and their training
and their commitment."

PROJECT

Médecins Sans Frontières:
British Summer Time Festival

four23 animated a short film for Médecins Sans Frontières, one of the largest humanitarian organisations in the world, whose work helps thousands of people across the globe every year.

The film featured British Summer Time Festival headliners Damon Albarn and Florence Welch and premiered to over 65,000 people over the three days of the festival across the giant screens either side of the main stage in Hyde Park.

View the full film here.

"We treat people, regardless
of their race, religion or politics. Our
teams are made up of people like you,
our doctors and nurses are funded
by people like you."

Damon Albarn

EXHIBITION

London Design Festival

four23’s annual exhibition series at the London Design Festival continued with ‘The Chair, In a Room, In a House’.

The fourth exhibition in the series featured guest speakers, installations, data visualisations and participatory experiences, examining the context and ripple effect of Communication Design and its wider social responsibility.

four23 exhibition series.

"Always design a thing by considering it
in its next larger context – a chair in a
room, a room in a house, a house in an
environment, an environment
in a city plan."
